Welcome! My name is Rachel Meena. I’m a psychotherapist and licensed clinical mental health counselor and I offer both in-person therapy to adults in Charlotte, NC and virtual therapy to clients across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Massachusetts.

  • With over 5 years of experience, I specialize in guiding individuals aged 18-99 in overcoming anxiety, depression, phobias, obsessions/compulsions, and trauma. My approach combines Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS or Parts work) and Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) to heal the root causes of suffering. Treatment is unique to every person but some of what you can walk away with from our work together is:

  • more presence and peace in your life

  • a connection to your body and emotions and an improved ability to manage life’s every day ups and downs

  • relief from pain in the past that keeps you stuck

Together, we'll embark on a transformative journey toward a happier, more fulfilling life. Take the first step towards showing up better for yourself and your life today.

MY APPROACH

Life is filled with uncertainty and change.

For many of us this fills us with anxiety that can make life feel unbearable.

Anxiety that might look like:

  • being overwhelmed easily

  • frequent feelings of restlessness or

  • nervousness

  • dread or worry about the future

  • racing thoughts or difficulty getting out of your head

  • avoiding certain situation or people

  • worries or disturbing thoughts that repeat.

I specialize in helping people reduce and manage their anxiety so you can live in the moment, know what you want and need, and start living more fully. You will learn new ways to cope and deal with the anxiety so it takes up less and less space in your life.

Trauma is a part of many of our upbringings and these experiences can leave people with maladaptive beliefs about themselves, other people, or life in general. Some of these maladaptive beliefs sound like:

I’m not good enough” or “I can’t trust people.”

Negative core beliefs like this wreak havoc on our self-esteem, our relationships, and well-being. I work with trauma from a mind-body approach using Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) & IFS informed practices. I help people connect with these wounds and together we re-wire how they relate to these negative experiences so that they no longer hijack their nervous systems.
